Wages

The average hourly employee at Walmart makes about $24,000 a year working forty hours a week. The reason why workers wages are so low at Walmart is because Walmart passes most of its savings on to the customers. So, even at the world's largest employer, a full-time worker can barely support a family. The average annual pay is below the poverty level for a family of four. Walmart is also the cause of the decline of the middle class because of its low paying jobs. They also drive down wages for workers at competing local businesses- reducing their earnings by 5% per person in the county the Walmart operates in.
